074: The Brand ED Bullet, Issue 16
Robby: You're listening to the brand
ed bullet from the brand ed podcast.
Four freaky fast Friday wins to
get you going for your weekend.
Let's go!
When number one, something to try.
Where do you turn when you need to
whip up a simple one page website,
and when you need to do that fast,
It needs to look great, but be
easy to build an all for free.
Well, the hidden gym I turned to his card.
That's C a R R D.
I'll put a link to that in the show notes.
It is a simple, it is a simple,
free, fully responsive one page.
Site creator for pretty much anything.
Card's marriage of simplicity and insane
design quality is frankly criminal.
You can upgrade to the paid version for
just $19 a year and you can sell things
through it like through Stripe or Gumroad.
You can collect information, form
information through your page
using a built-in form or type form.
Or integrate it with your
MailChimp or ConvertKit account.
I'll include an example of a webinar
signup page in the show notes.
And I've even got some card templates.
If you want to start with
one of my templates, you can
go purchase one of those.
I'll put a link to that in the show notes.
Bottom line.
If you're still trying to
figure out your full website.
But you need something fast or you
need to spin a page up fast for
a signup page or a landing page.
I want you to try card.
And then hit me back.
If you've got any questions about it.
It is a favorite tool of mine.
Win number two, something
a client recently asked.
A coaching client recently asked, “How
should I present my initial results to
my client so I can pitch my next offer?”
Now this client was wrapping up a
four month consulting engagement.
And she wanted to pitch another
future solution to bring
additional value to her client.
So I took two questions that
I ripped off of a genius
consultant who taught me these.
And I turned them into the
headings for her pitch.
To her existing client.
And then we crafted her upcoming
presentation around these two headings.
Number one, what worked well,
she presented her value, packed
consulting results to date.
And then the transition was
heading number two, even better if.
This is where she put her future pitch.
Her future offer to take what's
worked well and make it even better.
If she continued working with them.
What tips or tricks do you have up
your sleeve when making a followup
offer to an existing client?
I would love to know.
Win number three,
something to think about.
The internet is great for self promotion.
It's not great for self awareness.
I've been thinking a lot about that
lately, as I'm running a marketing
and personal brand business myself.
And yes, it's fun, but it is
not without its dangerous.
I've referenced that in this podcast on
the seven deadly dangers of building a
personal brand business, I would invite
you to go check out those seven dangers.
And then I'd love to know from you.
How do you grow yourself awareness?
Do you have a favorite resource
or tool or personality profile?
That's helped you.
DME and let me know.
Win number four, something personal.
I had a business idea that popped into my
head while back, and I took some initial
action on it and got the ball rolling.
But then I got busy
with my personal brand.
And I kind of put it on the back burner.
Well, a few weeks back.
I had the bright idea that I
could turn this over to my middle
son and one of his friends.
Why let the idea of waste away when
a couple of young college guys could
learn about business and real life?
We've had a couple of meetings and
we run through some of the basics
and the next step would be to try
to use them to launch a minimal
viable beta and see what happens.
So I'll report back in
because how fun is that?
And I'd love to know from you.
Have you ever pulled your own
kids into your business or
help them start their own?
Do you have any advice?
Share that with me.
