073: The Brand ED Bullet, Issue 15
Robby: You're listening to the brand
ed bullet from the brand ed podcast.
Four freaky fast Friday wins to
get you going for your weekend.
Let's go!
Win number one, something to try.
You know, the pandemic and zoom go
together like peanut butter and jelly.
But if you're not thrilled with
your on-screen appearance on
your zoom calls, chances are.
You need to up your lighting.
Here are two things you can try.
Number one, change your setup so
that you're actually facing a window.
Let the natural sunlight eliminate
that beautiful mug of yours.
Do not put the window behind you
because your camera tries to expose
for the bright light of the window,
which leaves your face in the dark.
Another thing you can
do is grab a ring light.
From Amazon.
There are hundreds of ring lights
out there, but I'll put a link to
the one I use in the show notes.
I love this one because it
includes a clip to hold your phone,
which is perfect for selfies.
It also has a handy light setting,
so you can control the brightness
and how warm or cool the light is.
It also includes a Bluetooth remote.
So with one click of a button,
you can take a picture or start
video recording from your phone.
On the ring light.
I'll include a link to my headshot.
I used this ring light
and that Bluetooth remote.
To take it.
Win number two, something
a client recently asked.
A coaching client recently
asked, how can I create more
than one offer in my proposal?
He was working on a proposal
for some consulting work.
I walked him through an
exercise around three things.
Number one, speed.
Number two automation.
Number three, quality.
What could he add that would make things
faster, easier, or better for his clients?
And in just a few minutes, we
had a host of ideas to create
three more fantastic offers.
Win number three,
something to think about.
" Hey dad, bigger fish go in
the middle of the lake."
This is what an eight year old boy
told his dad over a holiday weekend
when I was out running at the lake.
I overheard the exchange between
a father and son while they were
headed out to the lake to go fishing.
And it makes total sense
from the boy's perspective.
Big fish go in the middle where it's deep.
Of course that's not always true,
which leads us to win number four.
Win number four, something personal.
Things can seem so obvious to
us from inside our business.
I've got my big fish going in
the middle of the lake blind
spots, just like everyone else.
How do you discover those blind spots?
Well, for the past several
years, I've been doing it in
a business coaching group.
That's called a mastermind.
I'm in one.
And I lead one.
I can't recommend enough if you're
a personal brand to find a business
coaching group, like a mastermind
and to join it so that others can
help you see where you think the big
fish go in the middle of the lake.
Blind spots.
If you have any questions about
that, reach out to me, I would
love to help you get into one of
those business coaching groups.
Thanks for joining me on this
