103: The Brand ED Bullet, Issue 34

Robby: You're listening to the Brand
ED Bullet from the Brand ED Podcast.

Four freaky fast Friday wins to
get you going for your weekend.

Let's go.

Win number one, something to try.

You need a killer looking landing page or
sign up page fast, like lightning fast.

So what do you do?

Well, designing one and adding it
to your existing site is usually

anything but fast for most of us.

For starters, you don't want your normal
navigation at the top of the landing page.

You don't want your normal
footer at the bottom.

And you don't want to spend what
amounts to a down payment on a house

for a funnel builder like ClickFunnels.

You need card.

simple, free, and allows you to
create fully responsive one-page

sites for pretty much anything.

Did I mention that they're stunning?

check the show notes for some sample
card sites that I've made in the past.

I've never found a simpler, more
beautiful option for you when you

just need that landing page fast.

Win number two, something
a client recently asked.

Not long ago, I led a two day retreat
for my business coaching group.

It's a mastermind, And one of
the members asked for help mapping

out the next stage of business
for his training personal brand.

So we walk through one of the exercises
I use to kick off a two day strategy

sprint that I do for lots of businesses.

It helps define what success looks
like at a specific date in the future.

Now the question that's the difference
maker in this exercise is this.

What will your life look like?

Most goal setting focuses on outcomes.

For my client, the outcomes
were business metrics signaling

a certain level of growth.

But things changed when I asked him
to describe what will your life look

like when you hit those outcomes.

Why?

Because outcomes and impact
are two different things.

I want to say that again.

Outcomes and impact are
two different things.

My client realized the positive business
outcomes would harm his actual life.

So we went back and tweaked the outcomes.

Try this out the next time
you're planning or goal setting.

What impact will attaining the goal
or outcome have on your actual life?

Win number three,
something to think about.

Is the grass always greener when it's
growing on the other side of the fence?

It's easy to buy into the belief
that a nice fat growth curve on

your personal brand or solopreneur
business is greener pastures

compared to where you are right now.

But ask yourself this question, do you
know anybody with a growing personal brand

or solopreneur business who's unhappy?

Because I sure do.

Growth is great and I am all for it.

I aim to help my clients grow
their business, but my aim is to

help them make more than money.

My aim is to help them build a
life giving brand and business.

Do you know anyone with a popular
Facebook page or Instagram following

or a huge email list who's unhappy?

So how do you and I go after the same
growth without being gobbled up by it?

Email me your thoughts.

Win number four, something personal.

I've changed my focus over the last couple
of years, and I've poured less time and

energy into engaging around social media.

Instead, I've taken that same energy
and effort, and I have directed

it at my email subscribers.

Why?

Because my email
subscribers are fantastic.

Every note you share, every encouragement
you send when something from my weekly

email hits your inbox, I read every
one of those, I respond as often as I

can, and conversation tends to flow.

So I've decided I'm going to
give my best to my email list.

My email list will get the focus
of my engagement, the focus of my

energy, not a social media platform
that I don't have control over.

My email list is the best thing I
have, and gets the best from me.

I've loved having that focus,
because I love my email list.

I know they're blushing right
now, but what do you think?

Am I crazy for snubbing social media for
a date with my email subscribers instead?

I don't think so.

What do you think?
