096: The Brand ED Bullet, Issue 31

Robby: You're listening to the Brand
ED Bullet from the Brand ED Podcast.

Four freaky fast Friday wins to
get you going for your weekend.

Let's go.

Win number one, something to try.

Monday meetings, Tuesday
meetings, Wednesday meetings.

Meetings litter, your calendar,
one meeting zooms by and

the next one comes knocking.

I get it.

Tsums by zoom, anyone Bueller.

We'll meet Hugo Hugo hooks into your
calendar to create a little universe

where your calendar meeting notes,
tasks, and favorite apps connect.

You go does four things well
for you, number one, it bundles.

Well, it bundles your meeting
notes, your meeting, agendas, your

task, and to do's all together.

It does collaboration.

Well, it allows you to share and
collab with others in the meeting.

It does search.

Well, it will find what you need fast
with a Google like search function.

Integration.

You go integrates things after the
meeting, it pushes things to slack.

It can push to Trello,
to zoom and lots more.

One more thing.

There's a free forever plan
for teams under 10 people.

That's perfect for your
personal brand business.

So stop scrambling between Google
docs, calendar notes to do list in

zoom recordings, trying to find your
stuff from that one important meeting.

And the other one and the next meeting.

Do Hugo instead.

What's your biggest challenge, keeping
track of your meeting, agendas and notes,

and two dues email me and let me know.

If there's a resource I can point you to.

I certainly will.

Win number two, something
a client recently asked.

A client recently asked for help
generating more leads for his

personal brand consulting business.

We worked through some marketing
moves he could make, but then I

asked, what about your existing
clients who already love you?

It's common to chase after new leads, or
like I say, it's coming to chase after

new folks and neglect the existing fans.

So we walked through an exercise
to create a new revenue generating

opportunities for existing clients.

So one question from this
exercise we use is this.

What could you offer to
increase the speed of a result?

Your existing clients want.

So I'll ask you the same thing.

What's one thing you could offer
your existing consulting or coaching.

Our training clients to speed
up a result that they want.

Email me back.

So you don't get tempted to procrastinate.

Let me know.

And maybe I can help you
hold your feet to the fire.

Plus your feedback always makes me better.

Win number three, something to think about

Find your uniqueness.

That's a popular mantra that gets bounced
around in the personal branding space.

There's just one problem.

Just because it's unique.

Does it make it valuable?

Ouch.

Just because something is unique, does
not inherently make that thing valuable.

Like much in the personal brand
space, it appeals to your narcissism.

It quickly turns personal
branding into kind of a selfie.

But if you're wanting to grow a
personal brand business, you'll

want to flip that camera around,
get it from selfie to customer.

What do you think?

Is there a distinction between
being unique for the benefit of me?

And being unique for
the benefit of others.

I'd love to hear your thoughts,
email me back and let me know.

Win number four, something personal.

I was on one of my walks recently
and it heard an insightful question,

especially for personal brands.

Here's the question.

What pain have you walked through?

I immediately went to my
previous job loss or job losses.

Did you know that I've lost my job?

Not once, not twice, but
three different times.

The first two job losses
came at startup companies.

In fact, the first was circumstantial
it's when nine 11 essentially wiped

out our whole industry and market.

The second was a profit play.

Some investors in the company got
the product to a certain valuation.

Then they fired everybody and
sold it off and made money.

The last one, however, hurt the most.

Everything got caught in the wake.

Me, my wife, my three kids.

Tears, anger fights,
loneliness, fear loss.

It brought me a rather drug me to
an important crossroads though.

Who am I without this role?

Title or occupation?

What's left.

When what you've worn for more
than a decade gets stripped away.

Fast forward to today.

I have a personal brand where
I help coaches, consultants and

trainers start a personal brand
business worth giving their life to.

It's about reproducing
leaders who are life giving.

Because when you strip it all away,
whatever my job, title or occupation,

that's what I want to give my life to.

Reproducing life-giving leaders.

What pain have you walked through
and how does that show up in

your personal brand business?

I would love to hear your response,
email me back and let me know.
